The Brockville Mental Health Centre is part of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group and has a long history of meeting the needs of clients and families in the region.
There are 163 inpatient beds at the Brockville Mental Health Centre – 59 beds in the forensic treatment unit (FTU) and 100 beds in the secure treatment unit (STU).

Support from family and friends is an important part of the recovery process and as such we encourage clients to invite loved ones to visit.
For the safety and security of our clients and staff – and to ensure space is available – all visitors to the FTU must contact the unit 24 hours prior to the visit. Visiting times vary by unit, so please discuss timing with staff.
Visits to the STU may be open in a visiting room or closed through glass with use of a telephone. All visits to the STU must be arranged and approved through the Ministry of the Solicitor General (613-341-2870 ext. 1100).
The Brockville Mental Health Centre is located near the intersection of Oxford Ave and Hwy 2 E. The street address is 1804 Highway 2 East.

The River Café is located on the second floor of the Forensic Treatment Unit of the Brockville Mental Health Centre and is open to clients, visiting family members, and staff. There are healthy lunch options available as well as coffee, tea, and snacks.
The River Café is open for two hours over lunch from Monday to Friday.
The café is part of a vocational training program. Clients prepare the food and plan the menu with the support of a dietitian.
The purpose of the Brockville Mental Health and Addictions Resource Centre (MHARC) is to provide access to information about mental health conditions and addictions. The resource centre contains books, videos, pamphlets, newsletters, as well as Internet resources.
