Black communities in Canada face many barriers to mental health care. In order to heal, Black individuals need to be heard, understood, and respected. Healing in community is key.

This peer support facilitation training is available to adults over 18 who identify as Black and live in the Ottawa area. 

Developed and taught by Black trainers, this course will equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to facilitate diverse peer support groups and to provide emotional and practical support to people who are facing challenges related to mental health, racism, discrimination, and more. 

Date and Time

The training consists of six online afternoon sessions from 1 p.m.– 5 p.m. (EST)

Participants who have completed the training will receive an honorarium of $100, certificate of completion, and have an opportunity to join a peer support network.
