As a family member or caregiver, we understand that your loved one’s mental health or substance use health can have a significant impact on you. The Royal’s family information sessions are intended for family members or caregivers of individuals with a mental health or substance use health issue. These events are an opportunity to learn from our experts, find out about available resources, and connect with others who share a similar experience. There is no cost to participate but registration is required.

Overview

Dr. Kristin Horsley is a clinical and health psychologist in the community mental health program at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. In this presentation, Dr. Horsley will review key aspects of the development and trajectory of borderline personality disorder, how other mental health conditions can often co-occur with this diagnosis, and discuss important interpersonal communication skills that can be used to improve communication and to promote relationships.
