Overview

Pegah Jamshidi is a social worker at the Prompt Care Clinic at The Royal. She completed Marsha Linehan’s dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) intensive training program and received certification through the Behavioural Tech Institute. Her training allowed her to take a lead role in developing and implementing a hospital-based DBT program in 2015, and she has offered DBT skills groups and individual DBT treatments to clients in various healthcare settings over the last nine years.

Trang Duong is a social worker at Prompt Care Clinic at The Royal. She has been offering psychotherapy to clients with various mental health conditions, including borderline personality disorder (BPD), for the past three years. Previous to her role as a psychotherapist, Trang has supported families with loved ones experiencing BPD and other mental health conditions through her involvement with the Geriatric Psychiatry Program at The Royal.

This event is a virtual learning seminar intended for families with loved ones showing symptoms of BPD. Families who attend can learn to recognize traits of BPD and effective interventions that can support their loved ones in their everyday lives and during moments of distress.

Families will gather knowledge and tools to help loved ones who have difficulty tolerating distress, intense emotions causing mood-dependent behaviours, and unstable relationships.
