Giving back to The Royal through our Employee Donation Program

The Royal has one simple and clear goal – to expand access, hope and new possibilities for people with mental health and addiction needs. It is because of compassionate and generous employees that we can and will reach that goal. When we come together, in support of our own programs, research and patient care, the possibilities are endless.

Marilyn Prince, Executive Assistant at The Royal’s Institute of Mental Health Research, is our longest standing employee donor. She’s been generously donating to the Foundation since 2007 and has always been a huge believer in philanthropy.

“Knowing that the employee donation program existed at The Royal through the Foundation was an easy and efficient way for me to give back to our community,” says Marilyn. “I believe that creating an impact collectively allows for better access to dollars and resources, with an end result of making a more significant impact for our patients and families.”

Marilyn’s goal in giving back to The Royal is to help create better access to care for people who are struggling with mental illness. “There are so many ongoing initiatives that need funding, but for me, access to mental health care is a big reason why I give,” she says. As most of us do, Marilyn has family members who have lived with mental illness and she has seen firsthand the benefits of mental health care on her loved ones.

We are so grateful to Marilyn, and every one of The Royal’s employees who provide support through the employee donation program, for being a beacon of light for our patients.
