Usually, during the spring, we would be inviting hundreds of young people, like yourself, to The Royal to talk about mental health. This spring, things were quite different but mental health is as important as ever (maybe even more important).
On Wednesday, May 27, we hosted our first-ever, virtual 'Is It Just Us?' event. Over 900 viewers tuned in, hearing tips on how to manage anxiety and stress, cope with the new 'normal', and learning that we are all in this together.
Our host, Ian Mendes from TSN 1200, was joined by mental health professionals from The Royal and special guests including:
- Raj Bhatla, Psychiatrist-in-Chief/Chief of Staff at The Royal;
- Kasie Coulombe, Addictions Counsellor at The Royal;
- Leanne Paisley, Addictions Counsellor at The Royal;
- Stephanie and Luke Richardson, DIFD;
- Alex Mateas, Ottawa REDBLACKS Offensive Lineman;
- Kathryn Stockdale, committed to the University of Connecticut Women’s Hockey Program.
