Susan Richards

Susan Richards, FCPA is co-founder and Managing Partner at Numbercrunch, inc.

Susan is a CPA with thirty years of business and financial experience specializing in the Ottawa technology sector.  Over the past twenty years Susan has served as CFO and/or Financial Advisor to over fifty start-ups.  An entrepreneur at heart, Susan is co-founder of Numbercrunch which provides outsourced innovative financial operations small and mid-sized scaling businesses and organizations. Susan’s previous companies included co-founding online marketplace, Givolopy.com (sold in 2018).  

Susan is a community champion and actively involved in the broader public community seeking opportunities to make an impact.  Susan has served on a number of Boards including as Co-Chair of the Board at Invest Ottawa, Director at Bayview Yards and Director at Kanata North Business Association. 

Susan has advocated for diversity for women and unrepresented people in her community service work which also included terms as Director or Equal Voice, and Advisor for AmbiSHEous.   

Previously Susan served as Director for the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario.  A champion for innovative strategic accounting Susan was awarded the Strategic Leadership Award for Innovation in 2009 by the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario.

In 2022 Susan was awarded the Order of Ottawa in recognition of her commitment to the community, recognizing her financial leadership and diversity impacts respectively.  Susan was named a Fellow by Certified Management Accountants in 2010 and the Chartered Professional Accountants in 2016.
